The Einspach & Czapolai Fine Art Gallery was co-founded by Barbara Czapolai and Gábor Einspach in 2021. Established in Budapest, the gallery introduced a new standard of quality to the contemporary art scene.
Today, the gallery represents key figures in post-war and contemporary Hungarian fine art, including Orshi Drozdik, István Nádler, László Fehér, István Hász, and Tamás Soós. It also manages the artistic legacies of Katalin Hetey, Sándor Molnár, and Krisztián Frey.
Tamás Soós (1955), the greatest master of metaphysical Hungarian painting. In the 80s and 90s, Soós exhibited internationally – among others with Erwin Wurm and Yuko Shiraishi – and participated in the renowned New Sensibility group shows, representing the Eastern European ’trans-avantgarde’, curated by acclaimed art historian Lóránd Hegyi.
Frieze Masters offers a unique contemporary perspective on thousands of years of art history, from collectible objects to significant masterpieces from the ancient era and Old Masters to the late 20th century. The 2026 edition of the fair will showcase over 130 of the most significant galleries from around the world.
On this job, I could, for the first time since I’ve been living in London, work with a Hungarian gallery. It wasn’t just a first in this regard, but it was also a great opportunity to establish new ties to my home country. The team at Einspach & Czapolai Fine Art had such a kind and calm presence. Mónika Zsikla and Zsolt Füstös-Makár were a real joy to work with; friendly and down to earth.
